Privacy Policy
Hako provides managed private cloud hosting based on Nextcloud. This page explains, in plain language, what information we handle and how we use it.
What we collect
When you place an order or use the service, we may collect your name, email address, chosen subdomain, selected server location, billing identifiers, and service status data such as provisioning logs and health checks.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers. We do store the Stripe customer, subscription, and checkout identifiers needed to manage your subscription and service lifecycle.
How your data is used
We use account and billing information to provision your Nextcloud instance, deliver service emails, manage subscriptions, provide support, and operate the platform safely and reliably.
Your hosted files
Your files remain on the server location you choose when signing up. We do not browse, inspect, or access the contents of your files unless it is necessary to provide support you have requested, to maintain or restore the service, or where we are legally required to do so.
Operations data
We keep operational metadata such as order records, webhook events, and service health information so we can provision, support, and operate the service responsibly. Managed backups of hosted instances are not included, so customers should keep their own copies of important data.
Third parties
We use third-party providers only where needed to run the service, such as payment processing, email delivery, and infrastructure hosting. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, including access controls, encrypted transport, service isolation, and restricted operational access. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but protecting customer data is a core priority.
