Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Hako, a managed Nextcloud hosting service. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

Service

Hako provides hosted private cloud instances based on Nextcloud. Plans, storage limits, and server locations are described on the website and may be updated over time.

Accounts

We provision a standard user account for normal customer use and keep an administrative account for support and emergency maintenance. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for changing your initial password promptly after first login.

Acceptable use

You must not use the service for unlawful activity, abuse of third-party systems, malware distribution, copyright infringement, or anything that could materially disrupt the platform or other customers.

Billing and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. The current paid period is honoured. If renewal payment is not resolved, we may suspend the hosted instance after the due date and permanently remove it after an additional grace period in line with the service lifecycle described on the site.

Backups

Managed backups are not included as part of the service. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important data using the standard Nextcloud sync clients or another backup method that fits your needs.

Support and access

We do not access customer files or content unless it is required to provide requested support, maintain or restore the service, investigate abuse, or comply with a legal obligation.

Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, upstream outages, security work, or infrastructure issues may occasionally affect service.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hako is provided on an as-available basis and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
